Filling out the Declaration of Intent to Study Law in Texas

One of our tasks in filling out our Declaration of Intent to Study Law in Texas:

4(a). Beginning with your current or most recent employment, list all employment (including self-employment, externships, paid and unpaid internships, clerkships, part-time employment, and temporary employment) you have held for any period of time since your 18th birthday or during the last ten(10) years, which ever is shorter.

Dang it. This is going to take a while. I can think of 8 jobs/internships that fit their qualification of what I'm supposed to include here. I really don't know if some of the places I've worked are even around any more...

My life in bullet points:

  • I just invested money in a Money Market Fund. That's weird. I'm old.
  • I'm also old because I think I'm developing carpal tunnel syndrome. Not good. If my wrists/hands are still hurting and tingly in a week, I think I might have to see the doctor. I don't want this to turn into something that will require drastic measures to fix.
  • I've now been called on in all my classes. In some of them, it has been more than once. Scary. But so far, I think I've held up well enough under the pressure. We'll hope that continues.
  • Mom is cool. Thanks to her willingness to diligently search the sales ads and go to Garden Ridge for me, I am now the proud owner of a very nice striped chair that I can put in the living room. I'll probably try and put it together tonight while I'm watching Prjoect Runway.
  • I am now also the owner of the musical Cinderella on DVD. It's the TV version Julie Andrews was in in 1957. Hopefully, I can find time to watch that this weekend. I became addicted to the songs this summer while working and listening to the ipod--thanks to Anne for the ipod and Beth for the album...heh. That's the reason you have friends, right? To get free stuff from them?
  • As of this afternoon, I have met some of the people who live in my complex. I worked with one of them this summer at the law firm. That was kind of a weird coincidence, 'cause Houston is a big place.
  • I was also recognized today for the first time by one of the workers at the Chick-fil-a in the shopping strip near my complex. They'll probably know me very well before too long. The girl who rang me up asked me, "Don't you come here, like, every day?" I told her, "No, just once a week!" I don't think she believed me. But I've really only been going once a week, on Wednesdays, my longish/hard days. Except for the one week, when Dad and Mom and Kelsey were in the area...and last week when I couldn't resist stopping in that extra time for that milkshake...okay, maybe I go there twice a week. Ha.
  • All right, time to do some case briefing. Hooray.

Hmm, this is one of those posts were I really have nothing to say. But I need to go do a little work before I eat dinner, and am putting off said work for as long as possible. So. I hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend! I did--got to spend some time with family--and Mindy, before her birthday and before she heads to the UK this week--and Kelsey spent the night Sunday night. We watched 3 movies on Sunday and Monday. Oh yeah, and Kelsey and I invented some interesting variations of volleyball to play in the pool. That means I didn't do as much work as I probably should have, but that is okay. It's nice to have one last little mini-break before law school gets into complete, full swing. As Staci keeps saying, "It's only going to get worse from here on out..." The next day off is Thanksgiving. That's forever away!

Hmm, what else? I think it's kind of funny when I'm playing the piano and I know that my wrist is about to pop when I get to certain runs or chord progressions in the music.

Um...yeah, so I thought maybe the desire to procrastinate would encourage my muse and I'd come up with a super entertaining post. But that didn't happen so much. Oh well! I guess I'll go outline for a little while, and then I'll make me some dinner...and watch House. Hooray House :)

Oh, I know what else! The newest updates to facebook kind of scare me. I'm not sure how I feel about them yet.

The end.
