Busyness!

Well, it's a busy Sunday night. I should be studying for finals (less than two weeks away! how scary!) or working on typing up notes from my "depositions" done for practice skills today...but what am I doing instead? Procrastinating by making a blog entry for the first time in almost a month. Hooray!

I sense a late night ahead.

I also sense that this is going to be a very disjointed post.

I've noticed recently that my handwriting is getting increasingly unreadable. Staci is better at reading my handwriting than I am. On Friday she interpreted a notation I had made in my property book that I couldn't read. Anyway, I no longer dot my "i"s. I guess it's too hard to do that and write as fast as some of my professors talk (we're not allowed to use computers in several of my classes this semester). And it's hard to tell the difference between "a," "e", "o," and "c" sometimes when you examine what I've written.

Chrissy just called--I might be going to see To Kill a Mockingbird at the Alley Theatre next week! That will be fun if it works out. I'll need a break from crazy-studying. It'll actually tie into my life quite nicely: The sermon at church this morning actually incorporated some of To Kill a Mockingbird and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The pastor talked about how we live in a winter world that is very depressing...see, for example, the shootings that occurred this past week at Virginia Tech and NASA. However, there are signs of spring in the world too--Jesus has risen (or, in the case of TLTWTW, Aslan has returned), creation is wondrous, and the church can play a role in providing hope to people. That last part is where TKAM comes in--just as Atticus was willing to stand up for what was just and right by representing an African American in a southern town in the 1930s, so should the church be willing to reach out to those who have no hope. I also took that very personally--I want to be someone who stands up for justice and provides hope to people.

Hmm, that may not have made any sense. Oh well, it'll be something I can reflect on later.

I feel like I had a lot more to say...but nothing is coming to mind right now. I'm excited that the semester is almost over, even though I don't want to go through the stress of the next few weeks.

I guess I'll get to work now.
