Merry Christmas

In 1914, on a Christmas Eve during WWI, enemy soldiers from Germany and Britain called a temporary truce that began in the trenches near Ypres, Belgium. The truce lasted through Christmas night in most areas (and longer in some), and was a time for soldiers on both sides to sing Christmas carols together in their native languages and retrieve bodies to give them proper burials. In a couple of areas, enemies even played a few games of football and exchanged gifts such as whiskey and cigars.

I’ve always liked that story. It's inspiring.

I hope you had a good Christmas; I know I did!
